Web Application Projects

I have 2 projects that feature some of my work. The first is a fully functioning Mailchimp API connection, and the second is a To-Do List App. Go check them out on my home page!

Engineering: Virtual Reality Glove

As part of my senior design class, I worked in a group of amazing team members and lead the hardware development of a glove that connected to an Oculus 2 Virtual Reality Headset. The design goal was to create an interactive environment and an alternative method of interacting with VR that would be more acceptable to patients with muscular degeneration. I was in charge of preliminary circuit design, material selection, dimensioning the mold for silicone casting, and soldering the final product together. I also managed the budget, ordering timelines for the project (we ended up 50% under our given budget!) and assisted another team member with risk documentation for potential failure modes. This device was then presented to industry leadership.

Various fun electronic projects

Did you know that if you remove 6 inches or sheathing from a coaxial cable, you have yourself free television? This is because it creates a monopole antenna that can pick up air waves. Below is a picture of a setup I have that utilized this.

I also configured an SDR so that I can pick up radio signals outside the normal AM/FM range (by doing this I can pick up conversations from pilots flying over my house! Frequency was between 108-117 MHz if you're curious.)

I also have a Raspberry Pi which I 3D printed a case for. The design includes a custom Raspberry Pi symbol in the middle, printed in blue PLA filament. The Raspberry Pi itself has a debian desktop, retro gaming, and Kodi TV configured on it. This means I have access to over 500 channels, including a 24 hour cat channel, 24 hour Nickelodeon channel, and a ton of classic movies via PlutoTV.

I like to engage in various forms of electronic repair as well. I bought a Wii off the internet for $12 that wasn't accepting disks, disassembled it and restored it to take discs again (and then promptly converted it into a hacked Wii afterwards). I also repaired an original Nintendo DS that had a broken hinge by re-shelling it and restoring the DS slot to read games again. For my lights, I bought a broken LED set online for $5 and soldered it to a working state again.

But my prized gem would have to be the computer I built. The build is 12 core Ryzen CPU clocking 3.9 GHz, 1030Ti GPU, 32 GB DDR4 Ram, 4 TB SSD, and a 570 Strix motherboard with a 750 Watt Power Supply inside a Corsair mid-tower running Windows 11. It's absolutely amazing (although it needs a bit of cable management)!
